Sand Hollow, UT
Spent the last few days chasing miles off-roading. Thanks Cole and family and Trevor for joining us, and @blakae_3096 for being the best co-pilot.
Led a small group of CJG members and then ran a few trails solo. We did 10 trails in 3 days, averaging about 120 miles on the rocks and sand. The first trail we did really tested the durability of rigs and drivers. Diffs were smacked, rocks were stacked, and the Sand Hollow bump was engaged. Amazing time though and then ran a few easier trails.
Blake and I also got to meet up with David Adams. He has amazing knowledge of all things Jeep and we helped him move some of his projects around. The original Trail Mator is no joke. That Cummins engine and roughly 48" tires mean business on that old school wrecker. It was built from one of the original Yellowstone White Motor Company cars (circa 1930s) and the owner kept the crank handle out front to pay homage to its beginnings. We also got to check out David's Fleetvan, several others of his rigs, and grille collection of all Jeep grilles since 1942.
We are so honored that we got to help out and got the chance to drive these rigs. (So COOL!) A good trip isn't without some breaks though. Cole ended up losing a CV and then the other side started going out. He was able to get it buttoned up in a day. The last day, my disconnect system failed and ended up wedging one into my spring. While hitting it out, it inadvertently bent the eye hook on the opposite side. If you wheel hard, you gotta fix harder.
Looking forward to more adventures!
