Trip Reports

Welcome to the trail stories of the Creeper Jeepers Gang.

This is where the dust settles and the stories live on.

Our trip reports capture the real experience of exploring the backcountry of Southwest Colorado and beyond—high alpine passes, technical rock crawling, scenic forest routes, unexpected challenges, and the camaraderie that defines our club. Whether it’s a sunny day on the Alpine Loop or a slippery-slope recovery that tested everyone involved, every run has a story worth sharing.

Each report is contributed by our members and reflects the spirit of responsible off-roading, safety, and respect for the land. You’ll find trail conditions, highlights, lessons learned, and plenty of moments that remind us why we do this.

These aren’t just trip summaries—they’re a record of where we’ve been, what we’ve conquered, and the people who made it happen.

So take a look, relive past runs, and get inspired for the next one.

See you on the trail.

San Rafael Swell

Julia and I had a great time exploring the San Rafael Swell a few weeks ago.  We took our 2021 Gladiator and were joined by Rick Hagar in his new two-door Bronco Wildpeak.  After studying multiple trail sources I used OnX to tie together several trails that would take us from Green River to Hanksville, UT.  The Swell is the perfect area for overlanding as our trip consisted of pavement, gravel roads,  sandy washes, rock-filled creek beds, narrow shelf roads, and even a water crossing.  Any stock 4x4 could do this trail, but your vehicle can’t be taller than my Gladiator of 7’8” to get through the underpass.  Read the full trip report, courtesy of Colorado High Trails 2d Qtr 2025.
