Silverton July 4th Parade, Bullion King Lake, Kendall Mountain

The CJG had the opportunity to once again participate in the Silverton July 4th Parade. The July 4th celebration has something for everyone including a 5k/10k run, an Air Force flyover, water fun for the kids, a firehouse BBQ, games and vendors, mechanical bull rides, a ducky derby, and an impressive fireworks show.

We had several current members, former members, and guests join us in the parade. The extreme rock crawlers put on a show throughout the parade by driving up on each others tires. At one point, 7 vehicles were linked together. It was a definite crowd pleaser.

After the parade, we headed up to Bullion King Lake. It was very busy and the parking lot at the end of the road was full. We made the short hike to the lake. There were still a few snow drifts to have to walk through. The warm temps made the snow soft and it was easy to sink in up to your knees. After taking in the sights, most of us headed back out, though a couple stayed to try their luck at fishing.

Later, a couple rigs made their way up Kendall Mountain for a great view of the fireworks. Thanks to Cole for the Kendall Mountain photos.

A great and very full day was had by all!
