Engineer Pass

The high country road crews have been hard at work to plow open many of the roads in San Juan and Ouray Counties. Engineer Pass opened just a few days ago.

Mariah put together a last minute club run to the summit. She was joined by 4 more vehicles for the Saturday run. The weather was unusually warm and the snow is melting fast.

With all the snow, the road was narrow and passing oncoming traffic was a challenge. The water running in the roadway is creating ruts and deep mud holes. One of the switchbacks was especially more challenging than in the past. It was steep with large rocks, holes, and mud.

The spur road to O Point has not yet been plowed open.

Thanks to Mariah for organizing this event!
